WWE Extends Deal With Amway Center, Preserving The ThunderDome

WWE’s ThunderDome will continue hosting RAW and SmackDown for another month, as the company has struck a deal with the Amway Center to extend their partnership until the end of November. WWE’s first deal originally ended this month, with a quick extension that took them past the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV. It was rumored that Vince McMahon would attempt to travel following the contract’s end, but it seems that the company will stay put in Florida instead.

NXT has shifted to a similar screen-heavy facility called the Capitol Wrestling Center, a remixed version of the Performance Center that held many pandemic-era shows. This arena does hold some amount of fans, which is a test to see what will work for WWE as they attempt to get some sort of attendance together for WrestleMania in early 2021. With Florida still containing one of the highest infection rates in the country and plans to call for a do-over in Tampa Bay, it will be quite the achievement to fulfill the wishes of WWE brass, but crazier things have happened this year.
