Triple H: Velveteen Dream’s Professional Setbacks Have Been Due To Immaturity In His Personal Life

Triple H says Velveteen Dream needs to find out who he wants to be, and immaturity is the reason for the setbacks in his personal and professional life this year.

Speaking in a Q&A session ahead of NXT TakeOver 31, Triple H spoke about Velveteen Dream’s growth— or lack of—while hyping tonight’s match against Kushida.

“Coming off of what was a bit of a rough year for Velveteen Dream. Reorganizing himself, you know? Dream is one of those young guys that still hasn’t quite found his way yet of who he wants to be. I think sometimes that weighs on him. His immaturity in his life presents itself in his professional life and makes it difficult for him sometimes.”

Several accusations of sexual misconduct with minors were made against Velveteen Dream this year, and he ended up being taken off of WWE TV this summer. It was later said that a car accident was to blame for Dream’s absence, with Triple H claiming on multiple occasions that the company investigated the matter and found nothing wrong with the situation. Triple H first told CBS Sports that they looked into the allegations and found that “there’s nothing there,” later responding to a question on the NXT TakeOver XXX post-show media call that it was addressed already and nothing else needed to be said.

“We’ve talked about this, we’ve said our piece on it and I understand people’s positions on it and their feelings of something that they seeing with the accusations online,” Triple H said. “So, I feel like there’s nothing more that needs to be said on it again. That’s it.”
