NXT Championship Match: Finn Bálor (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly
Bálor and O’Reilly lock up. Bálor takes O’Reilly down. O’Reilly quickly reverses. Bálor escapes O’Reilly’s submission attempt. Bálor puts O’Reilly in a side headlock. O’Reilly tries to use the ropes to escape but Bálor holds on. O’Reilly tries to back suplex Bálor to get Bálor to break the hold but Bálor holds on. O’Reilly reverses it into a submission of his own. O’Reilly slams Bálor down to the mat by his arm. O’Reilly locks Bálor in a modified hammerlock.
Bálor makes it to the ropes again. Bálor goes up and over O’Reilly and hits a basement dropkick. Bálor follows that up with a stiff kick to O’Reilly’s spine. Bálor works an armbar on O’Reilly. Bálor drives his knee into O’Reilly’s back. Bálor chops O’Reilly all over the ring. Bálor whips O’Reilly into the corner. O’Reilly explodes out of the corner with the kitchen sink. O’Reilly unleashes a flurry of strikes. O’Reilly hits two rolling butterfly suplexes followed by a butterfly DDT. Bálor kicks out.
Bálor and O’Reilly trade strike. Bálor nails O’Reilly in the gut. O’Reilly drops to the mat. The referee checks on O’Reilly. O’Reilly is clutching his midsection. Bálor stomps O’Reilly. Bálor sends O’Reilly into the top turnbuckle, chest first. The referee asks O’Reilly if he can continue. O’Reilly says yes. Bálor puts O’Reilly in a camel clutch. Bálor crushes O’Reilly’s back with his butt. Bálor puts O’Reilly in an abdominal stretch. O’Reilly escapes with a hip toss. Jumping knee by O’Reilly. O’Reilly hits a Regal Plex for a near fall.
O’Reilly tries to hyperextend Bálor’s arm bit Bálor counters with the final cut. Slingblade by Bálor. Bálor calls for the Woo dropkick. O’Reilly manages to dropkick Bálor in the knee to avoid it. Bálor locks O’Reilly in an abdominal stretch. O’Reilly is bleeding from his mouth. O’Reilly reverses it into a kneebar attempt. Bálor somehow turns that into a sharpshooter. O’Reilly finally manages to make it to the ropes. Bálor stomps O’Reilly in the corner.
O’Reilly fires up. Bálor hits an overhead kick. O’Reilly bounces off the ropes and lands a lariat. Both men are down. As Bálor and O’Reilly make it to their feet, O’Reilly kicks Bálor in the chest. O’Reilly reverses Bálor’s 1916 attempt into a guillotine. O’Reilly knees Bálor in the chest. Brainbuster by O’Reilly. Bálor kicks out. O’Reilly tries a cross arm breaker. Bálor locks his hands to block. O’Reilly kicks Bálor’s hands to lock in the arm breaker. Bálor stands up and stomps O’Reilly to break the hold. Bálor hits 1916! O’Reilly somehow manages to kick out.
Bálor goes up top. O’Reilly crotches Bálor on the top rope. O’Reilly hits two dragon screws using the second rope. Bálor is hung up on the second rope. O’Reilly dives of the top and hits a flying knee. O’Reilly hits a King Kong Knee Drop to Bálor’s knee. O’Reilly locks Bálor in a kneebar. Bálor tries to fight out of the hold. O’Reilly wraps up both Bálor’s legs. Bálor gets to the bottom rope. O’Reilly tries a kick but Bálor drops to his knees. O’Reilly hesitates, which allows Bálor to double leg him and hits a double foot stomp. Bálor goes to the corner. O’Reilly charges in and hits a knee strike. Bálor hits another double stomp. Bálor is bleeding from his mouth as well. Bálor hits the Coup de Grâce for the win.
Winner and STILL NXT Champion, Finn Bálor!
After the match, Bálor helps O’Reilly up. The two shake hands. Ridge Holland is standing in the crowd with Adam Cole knocked out over his shoulder. Holland drops Cole over the barricade. Fish, Strong, and O’Reilly check on Cole.
