Sami Zayn has been saying for weeks now that he is the rightful WWE Intercontinental Champion, and after winning the belt back at Clash of Champions, Zayn made sure to defend his hold on it, taking down Jeff Hardy in another title match at the end of tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
During tonight’s match, Zayn and Hardy battled it out in a major back-and-forth fight, and throughout the entire thing, a turnbuckle in the corner without a pad was looming as a big target for both. Late in the match, Zayn eventually got the upper hand, and was able to throw Hardy into the corner, where Hardy hit his head against the metal turnbuckle, knocking him out and resulting in Sami Zayn getting the win.
