New Japan Pro Wrestling continued the 30th G1 Climax on Thursday. The show featured two huge intra-faction matches, one of which saw some very unsportsmanlike conduct.
Bullet Club’s EVIL & KENTA were anything but friendly in their contest. The match started with EVIL refusing to Too Sweet KENTA, and saw shenanigans from “The Spoiler” Dick Togo. KENTA finally got down in the mud with EVIL, delivering a series of blows with his IWGP US Title Challenge Briefcase, but EVIL & The Spoiler were too much for KENTA, who fell to EVIL’s eponymous finisher.

EVIL’s former stable, Los Ingobernables de Japon, were the focus of Thursday’s main event, as SANADA took IWGP Double Champion Tetsuya Naito to his limit, and finished him off with a Moonsault. SANADA is the first wrestler to defeat Naito in this year’s tournament, likely setting up a title defense later in the fall.
Naito’s winning streak wasn’t the only winning streak snapped in Niigata. Toru Yano’s 3-match run was ended by Juice Robinson. Yano has been junk-punching his way through big names like SANADA & Hiroshi Tanahashi, but Juice was able to use Yano’s own rollup against him to grab the win.
Plus Young Lions Yota Tsuji & Gabriel Kidd wrestled to a 15-minute Draw. The whole show is available on NJPWWorld.com.
