Brian Meyers opens up about working with one of professional wrestling last through journeyman, Fit Finlay.

In 2007, Brian Myers and Matt Cardona, as Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, aligned themselves with Edge and were shot to the top of the SmackDown roster. Still young in their careers, they spent a lot of her show matches working with veteran Finlay and an array of different partners in tag team matches.

Speaking on Dave Penzer’s podcast, Brian Myers discusses how working with Finlay on a regular basis made him a better wrestler.

“So, in that era of being with Edge every night, for the most part, it would be Zack and I vs. [Finlay] and fill in said partner,” Myers began. “I know there’s a whole lot of Jamie Noble and [Finlay], a lot of [Finlay] and Batiste, a lot of [Finlay] and Hornswoggle. We worked with him, which was a blast.”

He continued, “But it’s just like such ‘on the job’ learning. He’s for sure the last of a dying breed the way just the way he did business and stuff. So, I’ll be forever grateful to have those experiences to share the ring with him.  I know people learn from him now, you know, verbally. I got to be in there and feel what it’s like to be in with him. It was a different animal and it definitely changed me as a wrestler for the better.”

Brian Myers was released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020. now, he is working with IMPACT Wrestling.
