MLW Teases Return To Action, Issues Statement On Brian Pillman Jr.

There are currently only three major American promotions hosting first-run action thanks to the global pandemic, but it may not be that way for long. Court Bauer recently tweeted out an image of a new arena for MLW Fusion that could be the home of new action for the promotion. However, there’s no confirmation if and when MLW will return, and what the crowd situation will be when they do.

One talent who may not return even if the action does is Brian Pillman Jr. The son of the WCW legend is eager to return to the ring, as seen by his recent appearances on AEW Dark. He’s hoping to come to terms with a release in order to further pursue these types of opportunities. The promotion recently commented on the talent’s statement, which is reproduced below in full:

“Brian is not released and is fully aware of our schedule, which includes events October 3rd and December 5th pending the state of the pandemic. We put the health of our talent/staff and their family and our fans before bookings, which is why we are not running at the moment. We’ve been in contact with Brian to relay this. If he elects to perform elsewhere under the terms of his deal, he certainly has our full blessing to do so.”

That seems to indicate that Brian (and anyone else under a similar deal) are free to head over to Dynamite, so we’ll likely see more of Pillman even if MLW continues to take their time.
