New IMPACT Wrestling Champion Eddie Edwards recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard and discussed various topics ahead of the Slammiversary pay-per-view. One highlight includes Edwards’ thoughts on how Moose carries himself as the TNA World Heavyweight Champion despite not “winning” the title.
Edwards is a former TNA World Champion, the same title that Moose has been walking around with now. Moose still defends the belt each week, and for that Edwards says his frenemy has done a great job so far.
“I was a TNA Champion, I like to point out the fact he says he’s beaten all these former champions and this and that, but he’s yet to beat me. He honestly, whether I love him or hate him or a little bit of both, he’s done an amazing job with the championship in promoting it as a true championship. He’s done a good job of it. I’m not gonna hate him for that, he acts like a champion, he goes out in the ring and he delivers like a champion. With questionable tactics, sure but he is a champion for a reason and I think that’s a good thing. And I’d love to go toe to toe with him again for that championship belt.”
Edwards successfully defended his title against Trey on this week’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling, while Moose will face off with Heath Slater on next week’s broadcast.
