Adam Cole Apologizes For Causing A Scene On Pat McAfee Show

Adam Cole is sorry for the expletive-filled outburst that saw him walk off of the set of the Pat McAfee Show last week.

Cole issued the following statement this morning, apologizing for his actions on last week’s show before saying he was embarrassed and would make sure it never happened again.

“I’ve had the weekend to think about everything, and it’s still hard to put into words where to begin. First of all, to anyone that I offended, I apologize. I apologize because I represent a brand that commands respect. Not just because of what we do in the ring, but how we handle ourselves outside of the ring. Even though he continued to push my buttons, I still should have kept my composure and acted like a professional. I’m embarrassed by my reaction, and I will make sure something like that never happens again. Thanks for the continued support everyone.”

Adam Cole was an unadvertised guest on Thursday’s episode of the Pat McAfee Show and things quickly broke down as the former NXT Champion took issue with a few remarks by the outspoken host. McAfee and Cole have traded jabs over the years on WWE programming, but things started to get tense once McAfee brought up the comparisons to Shawn Michaels and how Cole would agree that he’s nowhere near the talent that Michaels was.

McAfee: “I think you, as a student of the business, would understand that you’re nowhere near what Shawn Michaels was but that has to be pretty good to be in the same breath as a man that you have a lot of respect for.”

Cole: “All things considered with what you just said—Shawn Michaels himself has said there’s a lot of comparisons between the two of us, which to me is a huge compliment. Let me finish—I feel like you’re going to cut me off.

“By any means, I have never said that I am as good as Shawn Michaels. I know I have years and years to get to that point. I think Shawn recognizes that I’m on my way to maybe someday having a career like his, but he’ll tell you and I’ll tell you that I’m not worried about being the second coming of Shawn Michaels. I’m going to be the first Adam Cole, so I really don’t know what you’re trying to say.”

Cole said McAfee was trying to offend him despite his claims to the contrary, then McAfee finally pushed the ‘right’ button by saying Cole couldn’t win on his own because of how small he was. Cole knocked over a mic stand and got in McAfee’s face, dropping several f-bombs on his way out.
