At WWE The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, Kofi Kingston and Big E defended the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro in a Tables Match. The match quickly broke down into a brawl, and the challengers briefly gained the upper hand. Kingston and Big E double-teamed Cesaro to take control. Big E propelled Kingston into both of their opponents, and the champions dominated the match early on. Cesaro hit Big E with the stairs, and the challengers isolated Kingston. Big E speared Cesaro off the apron and barely missed a table. Both teams kept unsuccessfully trying to put their opponents through a table.
