24/7 Championship Match: R-Truth (c) vs. Akira Tozawa
R-Truth says he came out here by himself. Tozawa has a bunch of ninjas with him. Shayna Baszler marches down to the ring. Tozawa looks terrified. Baszler takes out each of Tozawa’s ninjas. Tozawa says he’s out and runs away. R-Truth yells at Tozawa to not come back. Baszler slowly turns around and looks at R-Truth. R-Truth says he’ll let himself out. R-Truth hightails it out of the ring. Baszler grabs a mic and says she’s sick and tired of waiting. Baszler is going to introduce the weakminded women’s champions to a dose of reality. Baszler is that reality.
Backstage, Murphy asks Rollins if “eye for an eye” means they are really going to try to blind each other. Rollins says nothing without purpose is without consequence. Rollins advises that Murphy focuses on his match against Aleister Black later tonight. Rollins is going to the ring; he has something to say.
In-Ring Segment: Seth Rollins
Rollins repeats “an eye for an eye” over and over again. Rollins says he knows what it means. Rollins thought it was just a metaphor for revenge but what he has come to understand is that Rey Mysterio meant it literally. Rollins is trying to understand how we got to this point. Mysterio has misunderstood his place in the greater good from day one. A match like this has never been sanctioned before. Rollins says he never meant to harm Mysterio. Mysterio presented himself to Rollins in his time of need. The WWE Universe asked Rollins to lead RAW into the future and that’s what he is doing.
This year, Extreme Rules is called “The Horror Show” and that’s exactly what it’s going to be. Rollins is going to blind Rey Mysterio. Extreme Rules will be the end of Mysterio but in many ways, it will be a new beginning. Kevin Owens interrupts. Rollins is livid. Owens says Rollins is such a scumbag that he turned a paragon of virtue like Mysterio into a guy who wants to rip someone’s eye out. Owens says he happens to be friends with a pirate named Jean Pierre Lafitte and he has a gift for Rollins. Owens pulls out an eye patch. Rollins screams that Owens isn’t even going to make it to their match later tonight. Rollins yells for Murphy to get out here. Murphy runs down the ramp but it cut off by Aleister Black. Black and Murphy tear into each other, waylaying each other with rights and lefts.
