Tessa Blanchard Reportedly Offered IMPACT A ‘One-Date Price’ To Drop The Title At Slammiversary, But Was Turned Down

Tessa Blanchard reportedly was willing to drop the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship at next Saturday’s Slammiversary XVIII, but it was on her own terms for a fee that the company wasn’t willing to accept.

Dave Meltzer reports in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that it was true that Tessa didn’t want to travel from her home base in Mexico to the United States during the COVID-19 global pandemic. However, the now-former champion did make a “one-date price” offer to drop the title, but IMPACT didn’t accept, instead opting to fire her days before her contract expired and therein strip her of the title. According to Meltzer, her boyfriend Daga still wants to work with the company and IMPACT doesn’t think Blanchard’s situation will be trouble for his situation.
