Hikaru Shida put her AEW Women’s Championship on the line at Fyter Fest.
Challenger Penelope Ford put forth an impressive effort and got several near falls against Shida. However, the defending champion was a large favorite coming into the match for a reason and she wasn’t about to go down. Shida kept pressing forward and it was almost over after she hit a Falcon Arrow, but Ford countered the pin and almost pulled off the upset herself.

Kip Sabian tried to interfere while the referee was distracted but Shida hit him with the kendo stick he had. Ford then hit an impressive somersault stunner and then went to the top rope for a moonsault that missed its mark. Shida then hit a series of running knees and then hit a Falcon Arrow for a close two count.
