Number One Contender’s Tournament Finals: Ace Austin vs. Trey
As Austin is waiting in the ring, Trey never comes out. A camera backstage shows Trey out on the floor. Dez and Wentz run in and check on him. Trey isn’t moving. Wentz says he knows who did this and storms off.
In the ring, Austin says that’s too bad. Now he should be named the number one contender. Wentz walks down the ramp and screams that he knows it was Austin. Referees hold Wentz back. Scott D’amore walks down to the ring to restore order. D’amore says this is the match.
Number One Contender’s Tournament Finals: Ace Austin vs. Wentz
Wentz immediately hits a modified DDT. Austin kicks out. Wentz ground and pounds Austin. The referee pulls Wentz off of Austin. Wentz is all over Austin. Wentz superkicks Austin’s soul out of his body. Austin tries to hold on to the rope but Wentz drags Austin back to the middle of the ring. After the break, Austin is in control, working over Wentz.
Wentz and Austin fight outside the ring. After the fight moves back into the ring, Wentz unloads on Austin. Wentz tries to hit the ropes but Austin slams him by his hair. Wentz avoids the Fold and hits a springboard head kick. Wentz lands a flurry of strikes. Wentz gets a near fall after a standing moonsault. Wentz tries a swanton but Austin gets his knees up. Austin hits The Fold for the win.
