Britt Baker ended up being pulled from her match at Double Or Nothing due to injury and now we have a better idea of how long she’ll be sidelined.
During tonight’s post-show media scrum Tony Khan was asked for a status update on Baker and Fenix, who also was removed from his match on the show. Khan called both injuries curveballs they had to face, but seemed optimistic about both of their returns. Khan said they really didn’t know the extent of her injury until Friday but Baker will miss approximately six weeks, and added that it shouldn’t be more than two months total. As for Fenix, Khan said he was walking with a limp and said a ladder match wasn’t a good situation to put him in, but he isn’t expected to miss a major amount of time.
Penelope Ford ultimately replaced Baker in her match against Kris Statlander; Joey Janela subbed in for Fenix in the Casino Ladder Match that was won by the debuting Brian Cage.
Earlier in the broadcast, AEW doctor Michael Sampson was interviewed about Baker’s injuries and he revealed she fractured her tibia and tore her LCL in her right knee, in addition to a slight tendon tear. Baker will appear on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite to talk about the injuries and when she might return.
