The tournament for the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship continued tonight on NXT, and two big matches have helped make the picture for who will be advancing in the tournament much clearer.
During tonight’s first match of the tournament, Jake Atlas kept himself in contention by taking down Tony Nese with a big win. The win pushed Tony Nese to 0-3 in the tournament, while bringing Atlas up to 2-1 and keeping him alive for at least another week.
The second match saw Isiah “Swerve” Scott taking on Jack Gallagher, but unfortunately for Scott, Tony Nese came running down to the ring before their match started, attacking Scott. With Scott already hurt from the assault, he was unable to beat Gallagher, who – after already being out of contention himself – played spoiler by eliminating Scott from moving on in the tournament. With the field beginning to become clearer, next week’s matches will go a long way in determining just who makes it out of the group stage.
