Jon Moxley Plans On ‘Hunting’ Talent In New Japan After Quarantine

Speaking with talkSport, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley had plenty to say about the current world situation and how it’s keeping him away from his second promotion, New Japan Pro-Wrestling. After having big matches with stars like Lance Archer and Juice Robinson since his WWE departure, Mox is eager to return to Japan but doesn’t have a timetable for when he possibly could.

I don’t even know what the travel restrictions are, I don’t know when it’ll be safe. I can’t even begin to speculate a timetable to return there. I don’t know when it’ll be legal, so who knows?

When some sense of normalcy does return to the world, Mox wants to hit the ground running and take on some of the best wrestlers NJPW has to offer.

If I’m going to Japan, I’m big-game hunting. I’m looking for big matches, big opponents, cool stuff. There is so many, I mean, how do you pick just one? There’s so much talent over there that I haven’t got to work with. I got to work with Naito in the G1, who’s their top guy right now. That could be a thing we revisit because I got a win over him.

Mox also lists Okada and Tanahashi as possible targets for his “hunt”. He also admits to still holding a grudge against Zack Sabre Jr. for laying him out on his last trip. With AEW returning to live weekly Dynamites and a PPV clash with The Dark Order looming, Mox won’t be bored in the meantime, but I’m sure New Japan fans are eager to see him return and strut his stuff.
