WWE Hall Of Famer Gerald Brisco Furloughed By WWE

Update: Dave Meltzer said on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Gerald Brisco was furloughed by WWE, not outright released by the company.

Brisco has also commented on the issue this morning, confirming he was furloughed by WWE and posted a follow-up remark about having options, noting he was keeping an open mind.

WWE Hall of Famer and pro wrestling legend Gerald Brisco is no longer with WWE.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Brisco was let go in the recent wave of cuts. Brisco has worked with WWE since 1984 and has been an important talent scout for the company. He famously discovered Brock Lesnar and signed him to a developmental deal. His on-screen role in the promotion has been limited as of late but he was one of Vince McMahon’s lackeys during the Attitude Era.

Brisco won the WWE 24/7 Championship last year on the RAW Reunion show after pinning Pat Patterson and lost it to Kelly Kelly. He previously won the WWE Hardcore Title twice.
