ECW Press is reissuing what they call “the definitive account of pro wrestling’s darkest hour”. CHRIS & NANCY: The True Story of the Benoit Murder-Suicide and Pro Wrestling’s Cocktail of Death was originally published in 2009, offering sports author Irvin Muchnick’s researched take on the tragedy.
“For decades, I have been keenly interested in pro wrestling, from the perspectives of both investigative journalism and pop culture analysis. It is a subject overcovered in unimportant ways and undercovered in important ones. I am pleased to be able to introduce the wicked, but instructive, story of CHRIS & NANCY to a new generation of readers.”
The book and its revelations became key talking points in the world of politics, and ECW Press cited it as ammunition against Linda McMahon’s unsuccessful US Senate campaigns in 2010 and 2012. The new release also includes a new 3,400-word introduction elaborating on the role of Donald Trump in the world of pro wrestling. Chris & Nancy is available on Amazon and anywhere fine books are sold.
The new edition comes a week after Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring released a two-part season premiere centered around the Benoit murders. Dark Side Executive Producer Evan Husney spoke with Wrestlezone’s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of the episode, and you hear that interview in the link below.
