WWE At MSG Event Rescheduled For June, Site Of 2004 Hall Of Fame Closed Indefinitely

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, WWE has had to reschedule a majority of their events and their traditional Road to WrestleMania show in March at MSG is no exception.

What was supposed to be a show that took place on March 22 featuring a D-Generation X reunion and the first-ever NXT Women’s Championship Match to take place at Madison Square Garden, will now be moved to the beginning of Summer 2020.

Madison Square Garden officially announced that the new WWE event will take place on June 27, saying that the tickets for the March 22 event will be honored for the June show:

“The WWE live event scheduled for this Sunday, March 22 at Madison Square Garden has been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, June 27. All original tickets will be honored for that event.”

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE had locked in the June date with MSG long before the global pandemic occurred. Speaking of the pandemic, Mike Johnson also reported that the site of the 2004 WWE Hall of Fame, the Hilton Hotel in New York City has been closed indefinitely due to the virus outbreak. The biggest hotel in New York will begin its closure on Friday, March 20, closing 1,878 rooms.
