The following is the official trailer for The Legend of Baron To’a, a film about a man that “learns the warrior ways of his old Dad, so he can secure the return of his family’s treasured pro-wrestling title belt from local gangsters.”

Described as “The Karate Kid meets South Auckland”, the title character is loosely based on wrestling legend King Haku / Meng. The action/comedy film marks the directorial debut for Kiel McNaughton, and it features a Pasifika/Māori cast, including Jay Laga’aia and Shavaughn Ruakere.

The Legend of Baron To’a opens in Australia this Thursday, March 12th.
