Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, and now they’ll have the benefit of starting their Elimination Chamber in the best possible position. Tonight on Friday Night SmackDown, Ziggler & Roode won the tag team gauntlet match to secure their spot as entering the elimination chamber last, as they took down Heavy Machinery for the win.
After Otis & Tucker had gone through nearly the entire gauntlet, Ziggler & Roode proved to be too much, and after a tag that Otis didn’t see, Ziggler superkicked Otis while he attempted to hit Roode with a Caterpillar. For a recap of how the match ended, check out below:
Jey Uso grounds Tucker and Jimmy rocks Tucker with a superkick. Tucker rolls Jimmy up to eliminate The Usos. The Miz and John Morrison enter the match. The Miz and Morrison isolate Tucker and double-team him. Morrison gets a two fall after a springboard kick. The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions continue to double-team Tucker. Morrison rocks Tucker with some kicks. Tucker clotheslines Morrison but Miz stops him from tagging Otis. Miz hits some running knees and a clothesline. Morrison dives off the top rope and gets a two count on Tucker. The champions rock Otis with a double-team kick. Tucker rolls up Morrison to eliminate the champions. They attack Tucker and drive Otis through the barricade. Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler enter the match and Mandy Rose watches the match backstage.
After a commercial, Otis is still down at ringside and Roode is grounding Tucker, who suplexes him to get out of a sleeper hold. Ziggler tags in and maintains control of the match. A dropkick earns Ziggler a two count. Roode and Ziggler double-team Tucker and continue to ground him. Otis gets to his feet and bounces Roode’s head off the broadcast table. Ziggler drops Tucker with a neckbreaker. Tucker rallies and tags Otis, who clears house. Otis hits a back body drop on Roode. Otis wiggles through some strikes and suplexes Roode. Ziggler secretly tags in and Otis goes for the Caterpillar but Ziggler suplexes him to win the match.
