Black still competed in the match, though he limped to the ring. He clearly wasn’t at 100 percent. Rowan took control of the match and dominated early on. Black rallied and dropped Rowan with a kick to the face. But Rowan regained momentum when he tossed Black into the timekeeper’s area. Black persevered and rolled Rowan up for a two count. He rocked Rowan with stiff strikes but Rowan slammed Black for a two count. Black sent Rowan crashing into the steel steps, but Rowan powerbombed Black into the ring post. Rowan checked on his cage, which got knocked over earlier in the match.

The distraction let Black recover and hit Rowan with the Black Mass twice for the win. After the match, Black challenged AJ Styles to a fight next week.
