At NXT TakeOver: Portland, Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox continued their bitter rivalry when they met in a street fight. Kai attacked Nox during her entrance, but Nox gained momentum when she sent Kai crashing through the barricade. Kai tried hitting Nox with a cricket paddle, but she countered. Nox hit an inverted senton onto Kai, who was covered by a trash can. Kai smashed Nox with a garbage can lid. Nox hit Kai with the garbage can and slammed her through it.

Nox hit a Molly-Go-Round but Kai kicked a chair into her face. Kai taped Nox to the ring post and kicked her in the face. Nox hit Kai’s injured knee with a laptop and whipped it with a steel chain. Nox trapped Kai’s knee in a chair and stomped on it. Nox placed Kai on a table but Raquel González attacked Nox and threw her through a table. Kai then pinned Nox to win the match. González raised Nox’s hand after the match.
