Fresh from his successful UFC Light Heavyweight Championship defense this past Saturday, Jon Jones told Sports Illustrated that he sees a future in WWE once his time in The Octagon is over. “I think it’s inevitable. I’ve always respected WWE, and I feel like the sports can be so similar.”
WWE is no stranger to former MMA stars making the jump at this point. Besides perennial world champion Brock Lesnar, former UFC star Matt Riddle is tearing it up in NXT, and women’s fighter Shayna Baszler seems poised to emerge onto the main roster any day now. Adding Jon Jones onto Vince’s books could create some amazing matchups.
