Drew McIntyre continues to be one of RAW’s most tantalizing prospects. Despite a few high profile losses, the Scottish Psychopath feels on the cusp of breaking out into the main event scene, and he’ll have another chance to do so this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Speaking with the New York Post, McIntyre talks about what it would feel like to finally claim his “Chosen One” mantle at WrestleMania. “I can’t even put into words the emotions because if that ever happened my entire life, it’s not just my career, it’s my entire life I’ve been picturing that moment. If it were to happen, it would be unbelievable.”
If he were to become a world champion, it would be the culmination of lots of character work in Drew’s latest run. The RAW star describes being too serious in his character before and “playing wrestler” in the ring. Because of his attitude, he was unable to enjoy big moments in his career as they happened. “Now I just go out there, I don’t have to worry [about] necessarily the script as you like. I go out there and I can be myself and relax. When you do that, I clearly am having fun because I’m not trying real hard when I’m out there.”
