Triple H is sorry.
The following statement was posted on The Game’s Twitter account, noting that he had reached out to Paige and apologized to anyone that might have been offended by a recent joke he made at the former WWE Women’s Champion’s expense.
I’ve reached out to @RealPaigeWWE to apologize. I made a terrible joke and I’m sorry if it offended her or anyone else.
Earlier this week, Triple H took part in a media scrum in the UK and was asked about the potential of seeing Edge and Paige return to the ring. He started by saying as a fan he would love to see them back, but their health was paramount and that would be another issue to get around. Continuing his answer, Triple H said Edge had a family and kids to think about, then joked about Paige also having a few kids that she might not know about.
Paige initially responded to a clip of the scrum and said fans probably still made fun of her past since her boss was doing it too. A number of people came to her defense, including the Bella Twins and Renee Young, and chided Triple H’s remark and called it out for being a misogynistic dig. Paige’s boyfriend, Ronnie Radke, also called out the WWE COO’s comments and said the company should be ashamed at what he did and posted a separate Tweet saying “It’s f*ck @TripleH all 2020.”
Earlier this morning, Paige spoke with Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda and said that while Triple H did reach out and it was inappropriate to joke about, she’s ready to move on and not focus on it.
