Ricky Starks has been one of the hottest stars on NWA Powerrr. Fightful recently interviewed the fan-favorite, who will face NWA National Champion Colt Cabana and Aron Stevens at NWA Into The Fire. Transcription credit of Jeremy Lambert of Fightful.
Starks discussed his creative process behind producing some of his character vignettes. “I know myself better than anyone,” said Starks via Lambert. “The best way to articulate that is through visuals. Originally, I wanted it to be more of a look book, for people to atheistically look and be like, ‘this is intriguing’, and it’s up for their interpretation.”
Starks also talked about the importance of standing out and crafting his own identity. “It was a long road traveled because I couldn’t compete as far as athleticism but I saw that not a lot of people were doing promos or pulling emotion from the fans,” said Starks via Lambert. “I was hopeful that one day, that would show up for me. And that’s why I wanted to do the videos because the fans don’t get to see that.”
