Mark Henry: Jim Cornette’s Controversial Statements ‘Made His Skin Itch’

Mark Henry spoke to TMZ Sports about Jim Cornette’s “divisive and hurtful” statements on NWA Powerrr commentary earlier this week. Henry told the reporter that Jim’s comments made “his skin itch” and compared the situation to being disowned by a family member. When asked if he felt that Jim didn’t like Black people, Henry firmly said that he didn’t.

No, I’ve never felt that. He told me stories of working closely with Junkyard Dog, different people throughout history and who I reminded him of. I never in my life saw it.

When asked what message he would send to Jim, Henry implored the commentator to take ownership of his actions. “Jim, please apologize and mean it. And if you don’t mean it, just go all the way Darth Vader and say ‘I don’t like black people.’ At least I could know who you are and I could get rid of this feeling in my heart.”

To end his statement, Henry had a simple statement about his own feelings. “I don’t get emotional about much, but I feel a sense of loss.” You can see Mark Henry’s full words in the video embedded below:
