Triple H and HBK take a seat at ringside. Stephanie McMahon walks out on the ramp and puts over the Natalya/Lacey Evans and hits historical significance.
NXT Championship Match: Adam Cole (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
Cole and Bryan trade submission and pin attempts. Neither man can get an advantage. Bryan slaps Cole. Cole slaps Bryan. Cole floors Bryan with a shoulder block. Cole hits the ropes. Cole runs right into a sidekick by Bryan. Bryan puts Cole in a surfboard stretch. Bryan turns it into a modified dragon sleeper. Bryan releases the hold and drops a knee to Cole’s forehead. Cole surprises Bryan with a pump kick. Bryan reveres Cole’s suplex attempt into a suplex of his own. Cole and Bryan tumble over the top rope to the outside.
After the break, Cole has Bryan in a figure-four headlock. Bryan fights out of the hold. Bryan drops Cole with an uppercut. Bryan backflips over Cole then hits a clothesline. Bryan back body drops Cole over the top rope. Bryan dives off the apron and blasts Cole with a flying knee strike. Bryan sends Cole back into the ring. Missile dropkick by Bryan. Bryan tries a ranna off the top. Cole reverses it into a sunset flip for a near fall. Cole pump kicks Bryan in the face. Bryan kicks out. Bryan sends Cole to the outside. Bryan hits a suicide dive. Bryan tries another but Cole cuts him off with a leaping enziguri.
Bryan German suplexes Cole off the top rope. Bryan misses a diving headbutt. Cole hits the Ushigoroshi. Bryan kicks out. Cole calls for The Last Shot. Bryan ducks and rolls Cole into a single leg crab. Cole almost gets to the ropes but Bryan pulls Cole back to the center and transitions into a kneebar. Cole gets to the ropes to break the hold. Cole and Bryan trade strikes. Bryan lifts Cole into a fireman’s carry. Cole reverses it into a backstabber. Bryan kicks out. Byran traps Cole in the LeBell Lock. Cole eventually gets to the bottom rope. Bryan calls for the Busaku Knee. Cole surprises Bryan with a superkick. Cole obliterates Bryan with the Panama Sunrise. Cole lands The Last Shot for the win!
Winner and STILL NXT Champion, Adam Cole!
After the match, Triple H says if RAW and SmackDown want a war they’ve got it.
