Chris Jericho is still “Le Champion.”
Jericho took on Darby Allin in a Philadelphia street fight match that saw the champ adopt his “Painmaker” persona. Jericho had the advantage early as he repeatedly attacked Allin with a kendo stick. This didn’t last for long as Allin eventually grabbed the weapon and started laying into the champ. Allin went for an armbar but was unable to keep Jericho down for long. Jericho wound up hitting a codebreaker, but Allin grabbed the ropes to get out of the pin.

Allin got a near-fall after reversing a Jericho slam into a stunner, but the champion kept inflicting damage to Allin’s legs. He locked in the Lion Tamer but Allin was able to crawl to the ropes. Jericho then got a roll of tape and tied together Darby’s hands. Allin could no longer defend himself, but he still managed to do some offensive maneuvers such as a lionsault. There was truly no quit in him.

The end finally came after Jake Hager attacked Allin while the ref wasn’t looking and Jericho locked in the Lion Tamer to win by submission.
