Ring Of Honor Announces They’ve Agreed To Terms With Shane Taylor For Contract Buyout

Shane Taylor has been frustrated with his position in Ring Of Honor and now it appears that his time with the promotion is over. According to a post on Ring Of Honor’s website, they have reached an agreement to buy out Taylor’s contract.

Ring of Honor Wrestling and Shane Taylor have agreed to terms on a buyout of his contract, effective immediately.

ROH is currently in negotiations with Taylor for him to make his advertised defense of the ROH World Television Title at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas against Flip Gordon and Tracy Williams in a Triple Threat Match.

It’s unclear if this is a storyline or legitimate, but Taylor’s match at Death Before Dishonor was announced as “pending” on Friday. In recent weeks, he’s also been publicly venting frustration about not being promoted on advertisements for events, and said ROH was ‘dreading’ the day he won the World Television Championship.

Earlier this summer, Taylor spoke with Wrestlezone about his Summer Supercard title defense and commented on Ring Of Honor not using him correctly. He said it went “from the fans, from the people who sign the checks, all of them” who want to try and discredit his work.

“Nobody’s putting on a better show right now than Shane Taylor. But because I don’t fit that mold of what they think a champion should be, I don’t play into the social media fanfare for people to jump on that bandwagon, people like to discredit what I do. But once again, I’m going to go out there, defend my Ring of Honor World Television Championship and in the process, put on another match of the year caliber performance with Tracy Williams and continue to shut people up. Shane Taylor is money in Ring of Honor, and like I’ve said, if you want the money, come and get it.”
