Joe Hendry On Sharing The Spotlight With Dalton Castle, Seeing His ROH Vision Become A Reality

WrestleZone’s very own Kevin Kellam did an interview with recent ROH signee Joe Hendry before he’s set to tag up with Dalton Castle against Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham at ROH Global Wars Espectacular this weekend. Hendry talks about what it’s like to share the ring with a fellow charisma-minded man like Dalton, he also talks about what two legends influenced his personality from a wrestling aspect and his major love for South Park and more.

Hendry spoke about finally signing with ROH, noting that he’s been attempting to break in with the company for the past few years, and his persistence and hard work has finally paid off.

“It feels amazing and it’s one of those things that it’s weird that it’s a case of you know when people say that you just put something out there into the universe and somehow it happens.” Hendry said. “I’ve been trying to get into Ring of Honor since I think I first went over and did their try-out camp in 2016 and I’ve done UK tours in between then and now and it’s just something I’ve been working away at and you know, thankfully, I’ve been able to through hard work put that vision into a reality so I’m super excited.”

While he initially confronted Dalton Castle, Hendry enters this weekend’s event sharing the spotlight with the former ROH World Champion. Hendry says there’s plenty of debate about who the most charismatic person is in that team, but there’s no denying Castle’s skills in the ring.

“Absolutely, I mean myself and Dalton we have got to be the most charismatic tag team ever put together. We’re having a little bit of an internal debate about who’s more charismatic and I think you know the answer to that,” Hendry said, “I know the answer to that and Dalton will get there, he’ll get there. But if you look at that match for me can you ask for a better opportunity?

Dalton Castle, if you look at the total package, he is one of the best. If you look at Jay Lethal again, former World Champion, one of the best and the technical wrestling ability of Jonathan Gresham.” Hendry said. “Who knows what’s going to happen but what you do know is that this is going to be an amazing match. That match is absolutely stacked. I’m very excited.”

Hendry and Castle face off with Gresham and Lethal tonight in Dearborn, while Hendry will go it alone in a Proving Ground match against ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor tomorrow in Chicago.
