NXT Broadcast Will Be Split Between USA & WWE Network For First Two Weeks

NXT is making its debut on the USA Network as planned on Sept. 18, but it won’t be on the television channel for all two hours.

Instead, WWE is choosing to split the program between the WWE Network and their television partner. The first hour, from 8-9 pm, will air live on the USA Network. Viewers will then have to go to the WWE Network to watch the rest of the show as it will air the final hour of the program. This will only be for the first two weeks, as USA Network will carry both hours starting Oct. 2, which is the date that All Elite Wrestling starts on TNT.

Here’s the announced card for the first event Sept. 18, courtesy of WWE.com:

Already announced for the Sept. 18 episode is a huge NXT North American Title bout between champion Velveteen Dream and challenger Roderick Strong of The Undisputed ERA, as well as a Triple Threat Match featuring Bianca Belair, Io Shirai and Mia Yim to determine the next challenger to NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.

The second hour of NXT will be immediately available for on-demand viewing on WWE Network. As to why it can’t air those first two weeks? “Suits” is airing its final two episodes.
