Despite teasing the possibility of signing with WWE, Cris “Cyborg” Justino will stay in mixed martial arts. The former UFC and Strikeforce featherweight champion has now signed with Bellator MMA, which also features Jake Hager and Bobby Lashley among its roster.
Bellator President Scott Coker made the announcement earlier today and posted a video from Justino describing why she chose the promotion. “Cyborg” says she wants to fight more often and aims to be the first woman to become a champion in four promotions at the same weight class. Bellator’s current featherweight champ is Julia Budd, so that seems like a natural match in the future.
