Sitting down after a long training session at the NXT Performance Center, NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm appeared on Wrestling Sheet Radio to talk about her career and her upcoming match at NXT UK Takeover Cardiff. While the champion exudes confidence nowadays, she hasn’t always been so self-confident.
I had no business wrestling in the UK at one point. I was just a kid that moved over and tried to make a name for myself out here. Luckily I was accepted by the UK wrestling scene. I was taken in and trained by people around here and was treated like family. No one in the UK had to do that. But they did and I was taken care of quite well.
Toni now stands as the standard for the women’s division in NXT UK. While she states that this can be “a lot of pressure,” she’s ready to take it on and maker her countrymen proud. “It is honestly a dream come true. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m proud of it, I’m happy with it and obviously all work has gotta go into it to maintain it and just push it to its next level.”
