After defeating former tag team partner Shelton Benjamin on SmackDown, Chad Gable now faces Andrade in the next round of the King of the Ring tournament. Brushing off mention of Shelton’s mockery of his height, Chad says that he’s more ready than anyone for international competition.
I think a lot of people have had trouble with Andrade because he’s such a style mismatch for so many people. He’s incredible, but there’s nobody on this roster, I promise you, that has more experience wrestling international athletes from all over than I do.
He also states that he’ll be training harder than he ever has for next week and that he hopes that Andrade brings it next week.
Cathy Kelly also caught up with Gable’s opponent and asked him if he was ready for Gable’s challenge. Zelina Vega stated that Gable got a “lucky win” over Shelton Benjamin and that he poses no threat to her man. Andrade reiterates that it’s his “destiny” to win King of the Ring, and agrees with Vega that Gable poses no threat.
The two superstars will clash on next week’s episode of SmackDown for a spot in the King of the Ring Semifinals.
