Backstage, Braun Strowman asks Seth Rollins who he is going to be facing at Clash of Champions. Strowman lays down a formal challenge for the Universal Championship. Rollins says he doesn’t back down from a fight, so challenge accepted.
King of the Ring Round One: The Miz vs. Baron Corbin
Corbin backs Miz into the corner. Corbin stomps Miz. Miz fights out of the corner and lands a few strikes. Miz sends Corbin out of the ring. Miz misses a wrecking ball dropkick. Corbin floors Miz with a right hand. Dipsey doo clothesline by Corbin for another near fall. After the break, Miz drops Corbin with a Miz combo. Miz kicks Corbin in the corner. Running double knees by Miz. Miz-line by Miz. Miz goes up top and hits a diving axhandle for a near fall.
Miz runs right into the deep six. Miz powers out at two. Corbin yells at the referee. Miz catches Corbin with a boot. Miz counters the End of Days into a DDT. Corbin kicks out again. It kicks by Miz. Corbin counters Miz’s last kick into a roll-up. Miz kicks out. Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Corbin kicks out! Corbin rolls out of the ring. Miz tries a springboard but Corbin moves out of the way. Corbin hits the End of Days for the win.
Winner- Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin has advanced to the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring Tournament
After the match. Corbin says during a poll the WWE Universe says they want anyone but him to win the KOTR. Good thing that Corbin doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
Bayley vs. Nikki Cross
Cross takes down Bayley and locks in a body vise. Bayley escapes but Cross stomps Bayley into the corner. Bayley catches Cross with a running knee for a near fall. Bayley hits the diving elbow for the win.
Winner- Bayley
