Matt Riddle vs. Killian Dain
Matt Riddle and Killian Dain have crossed paths aplenty in recent weeks, and the brutality has only intensified with each altercation. The Beast of Belfast sprang an attack on The Original Bro the last time they were supposed to face off on NXT TV, denying Riddle his long-awaited chance at a fair fight. Riddle then challenged Dain to an impromptu battle at TakeOver: Toronto, and the result was similarly chaotic, capped off by Dain driving Riddle and himself off the entrance stage through two tables below.
This week, finally, the two dangerous warriors will square off in a sanctioned match. The time for sneak attacks and outside-the-ring carnage is over; the tougher man will be decided in the center of the ring when Riddle and Dain clash on NXT, streaming Wednesday at 8/7 C on the award-winning WWE Network.
The Undisputed ERA will be in the house
NXT Champion Adam Cole emerged from TakeOver: Toronto with the title around his waist, but the same can’t be said of his Undisputed ERA running mates, all of whom pledged to be draped in championship gold following the event. There are, however, asterisks attached.
Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly contend that the wrong man was pinned in their title showdown with NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits, and a video replay shown on last week’s episode proved that their claim holds water. And while Roderick Strong fell short in his quest to win the NXT North American Title Triple Threat Match in Toronto, it’s important to note that Velveteen Dream retained the title by pinning Pete Dunne, not Strong.
Factor in the black-and-gold brand’s upcoming move to USA Network — a massive announcement that sent shockwaves throughout sports-entertainment — and it’s safe to say The Undisputed ERA aren’t about to give up on fulfilling their all-gold-everything prophecy.
