Talking with James Delow of Gorilla Position, Buddy Murphy talks about how SummerSlam was his favorite PPV when he was growing up as a fan. When asked his favorite match, he quickly comes up with the answer. “2002 Summerslam. It was Rey and Kurt. It opened the show.”
Talk quickly shifted to Buddy transferring over to SmackDown. While it’s been a good while since his run on 205 Live, the delay wasn’t caused by anyone but Murphy himself. “From my original transition, it’s probably been a little bit longer than I hoped for. But it was a bit of a strategic part for me, as I wanted to get a little bit more size before I mixed it up with the bigger guys on SmackDown Live.”
When asked about his dream opponent on the SmackDown roster, Buddy knew exactly what he wanted. “Shinsuke Nakamura now has the IC title. How about we do a big scramble match with Andrade, myself, Dolph Ziggler, Apollo Crews, and Chad Gable? We call it the Workhorse Division.” Despite all that talent in the ring, Buddy seems confident that he’d be able to take them on.
