Lex Luger recently sat down with The Hannibal TV, where they discussed a wide variety of topics regarding his career. One of the many topics that Luger was asked about was his history with Davey Boy Smith, and his relationship with the superstar.
When asked about his relationship with Smith, Luger said that the two became fast friends. “We hit it off from day one, once again the gym thing, working out, and he came in and he looked incredible, and we immediately hit it off,” he said. “Bret introduced us, cause I had friends with Bret and Owen, and we ended up traveling all the time together, and I got to know his family. When we were in Florida, I’d stay with Davey in his house, when we went to England, they took all the guys in the bus, they let Davey drive his Jaguar around, and I stayed with Davey in his mom and dad’s house, and we just became great friends.”
Luger went on to talk about how Smith was extremely “over” in England, and that even today he misses his friend. Smith unfortunately passed away in 2002 at the age of 39, and while he may have been gone too soon, he will continue to live on in the memory of the likes of Luger and his family.
