Enzo Amore (now going by nZo) announced on the Store Horsemen show that he will be making his wrestling return when Northeast Wrestling hosts its Prison Break event in Poughkeepsie, NY on August 16th. He talks about reigniting his friendship with Big Cass (CaZXL) after the two were on rocky ground together and it inspired nZo to step back into the ring.
“In the end we did have a falling out and when I saw him have that seizure I got back in touch with him and I showed up at the hospital I dragged him out of hotel rooms that he was not gonna leave cause he was drinking and he was depressed and I showed up on flights and pulled him out of those places and I got a best friend back that a business can tear a part, you know what I’m saying? And it was a blessing to rekindle a friendship with a guy who we saw the world in ways that no other wrestlers have ever f*cking seen and I don’t care what anyone says. You can sell us short all you want, you’re just selling yourself short. You’re lying to yourself. Women lie, men lie numbers don’t lie and if you look at the numbers that we did and the ways that we elicited fan reactions together as a team, it was all time. So when I thought about seeing Animal at a meet and greet by himself and no Hawk and I thought about ‘What if I lost my homey?’
“So we got back together and he’s back on his feet. He’s wrestling Jon Moxley for Northeast Wrestling.”
nZo has stated before that he would never wrestle again and mentions that in the interview, but states after seeing younger talent in the ring and knowing the reach he’s capable of having for the business, nZo prepares to pump up his Air Jordans for another go-around.
“The thing about watching Big Cass get back on his feet that was all I ever intended to do last time I spoke to you. I had no intentions of wrestling again. You guys f*cking well know that I was very happy and content with my career and I wasn’t willing to put my body on the line. I don’t think that anybody who follows me on Instagram sees that I’m getting in shape for no reason or that I’m working hard for no reason. I’m gonna make a return to the ring.
“While I stepped away from it, it’s hard not to get the itch as a wrestler when you’re around guys who are inspiring. When you see young kids in these locker rooms that I’m going to with Cass. These guys come up to us and they ask us a million questions and they want to know things and I realize I can give back to this business ten-fold and I’d be selfish not to.”

Enzo shared the news on Twitter and stated that he does not have an opponent picked out yet.
I’m going back to the #MidHudsonCivicCenter the same place where I got in the ring for the last time, and I’m going back to defend what I never lost. I’ll haven’t agreed upon an opponent yet….. but I have a few in mind. #BestCruiserWeightInTheWorld
