For the past several months, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have formed an unusual friendship. Both women have had their sights set on WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. Cross earned Cross a title match at Extreme Rules and eventually won herself a place in the match. At Extreme Rules, Bayley defied the odds and retained the title by pinning Cross.

Bayley and Cross started the match but Bliss quickly tagged in. The champion took her to the mat but Cross tagged back in. The fight between Cross and Bayley spilled out of the ring and Bliss knocked Bayley face-first into the ring steps. The challengers ganged up on the champion and utilized the match’s two-on-one stipulation. Cross planted Bayley with a neckbreaker and grounded the champion. Cross trapped the champion in the ring apron and Bliss slapped Bayley in the face.

Bliss grabbed Bayley by the hair and slammed her to the mat. Some stiff strikes from Bliss rocked Bayley but she dropped Bliss with a clothesline. A dive onto Bayley gave the champion some momentum. Bayley locked both her opponents in a submission hold but eventually Bliss escaped and broke the hold. Cross dropped Bayley with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Bayley caught Cross with a knee to the head and hit her with a diving elbow drop for the win.
