Bret Hart Reveals What He Was Thinking During WWE Hall Of Fame Attack

During this years WWE Hall of Fame induction, Bret Hart was famously attacked during his induction for the Hart Foundation tag team. Although the attack thankfully didn’t result in any serious injuries, it was still a shocking moment. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Hart revealed just what was running through his mind during the moment, and how he wanted to persevere in honor of his late tag team partner.

According to Hart, nothing that happened – including the attack – was going to stop Hart from honoring his friend. “I came to the Hall of Fame with a real purpose to honor my friend and speak on his behalf about our accomplishments together, and I was not going to let someone ruin that moment,” Hart said. “As soon as that disruption happened, my immediate focus was on finishing my speech and saying what I had to say. I’m glad that did not ruin the moment for Jim.”

After the attack, Hart went on to compose himself and finish the induction, in which he praised the late Jim Neidhart and talked about how influential he was in the Hard Foundation becoming the legendary duo they have. “I loved Jim,” said Hart. “He was a team guy, and he liked the different styles that we had, with him being more of a power guy and me as the technical guy. We had a magical relationship, together for six years straight. I laughed so hard every day with Jim. When I look back on my career, I have to thank Jim for all the happy days we had.”
