In a talk with The Wrap, Kofi Kingston went into detail about one of his claims to fame before he claimed the WWE Championship. That being his yearly escapades during the Royal Rumble. Over the years, we’ve seen Kofi jump to barricades, stand on his hands and ride his teammates to avoid elimination. Kofi started performing these feats after picking up the torch left by John Morrison’s WWE departure. As for where these ideas come from, there’s not one surefire path to success. “I always have the mentality of like, if the idea comes, it comes, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. Luckily, for the past 12 years or 11 years or so, the idea just kinda comes.”
Kofi states that he owes some of the ideas to one of his best companions backstage, and it’s not his New Day compatriots. “Hornswoggle usually is the guy who I go back and forth and brainstorm with.” Kofi and Hornswoggle used to ride the roads and stay in the same hotel rooms when Hornswoggle was in the WWE. Even with his help, Kofi isn’t alone in coming up with ideas. WWE’s creative team is also quick to pitch in. “Being the guy who has the ‘Rumble spots,’ per se … a lot of people will be thinking for me.”
