Jinder Mahal Injury Update, Could Be Out For Six Months

According to a report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal may be out of action for an extended period of time after suffering an injury last month.

Mahal recently took to Instagram to reveal he injured his patella tendon, and underwent knee surgery to repair the issue. Mahal noted the injury was sustained during a match with Ali on June 15 in Denver, Colorado and vowed to put together a “legendary” comeback. According to the Observer, the normal time off for a surgery of that nature is about six months, but it’s possible Mahal could be back in less time.

Jinder Mahal is believed to be one of the superstars to sign a new five-year deal with WWE in the wake of rising competition. It’s an auspicious start to the Modern Day Maharaja’s new stretch with the promotion, although it’s not all bad. His former cohorts The Singh Brothers have seemingly been freed up to wrestle on 205 Live, where they’re currently making waves with a character reinvention, not unlike their Bollywood Boyz days. As for Mahal, we’ll have to see if he emerges to bigger things when he returns to the ring or if he settles back into the hunt for the 24/7 Championship.
