In a report in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it has been confirmed that neither Bobby Lashley or Braun Strowman are legitimately hurt following Monday Night RAW’s explosive opening segment.
On television, they are playing it up that Lashley is basically fine and did an interview the next night. In storyline, Strowman suffered a “possible ruptured sternum.” This was all about opening the show with explosions and making younger viewers think wrestling is cool. If Strowman has to be kept out a few weeks for this storyline to play out, so be it.
If that last line is to be believed, then the Strowman/Lashley feud could just be beginning in earnest. Traditional booking would have them square off at Extreme Rules, but they don’t have a match there as of yet. We’ll just have to see how things play out on Paul Heyman’s second outing as RAW’s creative lead.
