AJ Styles defeated Ricochet on RAW last week and the victory earned the Phenomenal One a shot at Ricochet’s United States Championship this week’s show. The rematch was more personal than their first encounter after both superstars disrespectfully slapped each other backstage. Styles put Ricochet away in a surprisingly short match and pinned the champion after a Phenomenal Forearm. Another referee came to the ring and told the original official that Ricochet’s foot was under the rope during the pin. The match restarted and Ricochet used his acrobatic offense to gain the upper hand. Eventually, Ricochet surprised Styles with a pin out of nowhere to retain the title.

After the match, Ricochet and Styles shook hands. Gallows and Anderson got on the apron and Styles held Ricochet back before blindsiding him with a hard right hand. Styles’ allies blasted Ricochet with Magic Killer before Styles dropped him with another punch. Styles planted Ricochet with a Styles Clash off the second rope to leave the champion down for the count.
