Nyla Rose On Having Issues With Awesome Kong & Brandi Rhodes, What Casual Fans Can Expect

In the wake of Fyter Fest last night, All Elite Wrestling’s Nyla Rose took part in a post-show media scrum in which she discussed a series of topics relating to her rise & future with the company. Rose burst onto the scene back at Double or Nothing, when she came to blows with the debuting Awesome Kong.

On being out in front of the AEW crowd:

“It’s a cliche, but we feed off the electricity of the crowd, 100%. You’re backstage and you’ve got the jitters going, that nervous energy, but when you’re out in front of that crowd they give you the strength to get through it.”

On the feedback she has received from fans:

“The same. Small minds have big mouths – or I guess in this case large hands, because they type a lot! It’s been a little bit of the same. I’d like to think that after tonight, maybe a few people are like ‘okay, she’s the real deal’ and that there’s a reason why I’m here.”

On possibly facing Awesome Kong in the future:

“Great. I want that. She stole my shine. I 100% blame her. She showed up as the fourth entrant in a three-way match, was not advertised, and I want that [match].”

On whether she has problems with Brandi Rhodes:

“I don’t know what I’m legally allowed to say, I’ll have to talk to my lawyer, but, yes.”

On building stories in the women’s division:

“It’s absolutely exciting. I don’t think I’m excited for anything else this year, quite frankly. It’s really nice to get the opportunity to kind of, really express your art. I’m used to being a cog in a machine and playing my part, and here there’s none of that.”

On what casual fans should expect from Nyla Rose:
“You are in for a treat. It’s cliche – there’s no one out there like me. I’ve got the mean streak, I can be funny, you never know what you’re going to get with me. At the end of the day, you will remember my name.”
