Tyler Breeze On Wrestling in Evolve, The ‘Summer of Breeze’

In an interview with WWE.com, Tyler Breeze went into detail about his career resurgence, which the website dubs the “Summer of Breeze. In explaining what drew him back to NXT after years on the main roster, he states that he sees a lot of folks online calling WWE wrestlers set in their ways, which is part of the reason why they’re not on TV in their eyes. Those same messages were directed at him once his tag team with Fandango began to fall apart. “I was on my own, trying to find my footing and wasn’t really used much. That almost turned into some sort of backlash, with critics claiming I’m complacent. I did that for about a year, just seeing what was happening.” After that year, he stated that he wanted to return to NXT, as he’d “always had a home there.”

I go back there, and it reignited a spark that was almost going out a little bit. My whole motivation and inspiration was to change that perspective of me. This guy isn’t complacent. He has something to offer. I’m not by any means on the backend of my career; I’m still very much able to go, as you could see in those NXT TV and TakeOver matches.

Tyler then talks about making his Evolve debut this weekend. “It’s an interesting time right now, not just for sports-entertainment, but wrestling as well. When I was in NXT before, something like this wasn’t even possible. Now, we have these new opportunities.” Tyler is excited to wrestle both AR Fox and Anthony Green, stating that they’re matches that may never be seen again. As for how he prepares for these new matches, Tyler gives a very expected answer. “Those guys are already talented, so I focus less on them and more on myself and getting into the best shape possible.”
